Embroidery
Embroidery is a decorative technique that uses thread or yarn stitched onto fabric to create patterns, logos, or designs, often adding texture and a more durable, high-end finish to garments.
Best for:

- Quality: Provides a professional finish for custom decoration
- Durability: Stands up to washing better than other decoration methods
Screen printing
Screen printing uses a mesh screen and ink. It can be used to transfer a design onto textiles of any colour — light or dark — and is ideal for large orders or vibrant designs.
Best for:
- Price: the most cost-effective printing option for large custom apparel orders
- Colours: can be used for almost any ink colour and design on light or dark fabrics
- Vibrancy: uses more ink than digital printing, which gives your clothing a vibrant finish
- Volume: best option for large quantity orders
Direct to Garment Digital Printing
Direct to Garment (DTG) digital printing is a textile printing method that uses inkjet technology to print detailed, full-colour designs directly onto garments without the need for screens, making it ideal for small-batch or custom orders.
Best for:- Size options: a viable alternative to screen printing for smaller orders
- Detail: ideal for intricate designs and logos or designs with colour gradients
- Small orders: DTG is good for one off or small batch orders
- Material: DTG works best on materials that are 100% cotton
Thermal Heat Transfer
Thermal heat transfer printing is a process where designs are printed onto a special transfer paper and then applied to garments or other materials using heat and pressure, transferring the design onto the surface.
Best for:
- Cost: Minimal setup costs and equipment make heat transfer printing ideal for smaller orders
- Personalisation: an affordable option when you need personalised decoration for individual items, such as sports uniform names or numbers
- Detail: suitable for reproducing designs with fine details and small text
- Flexible: many different finishes and style options
- Sustainability: Thermal transfer is an environmentally friendly option
- Small designs: for best results, use designs smaller than 40cm
Dye Sublimination
Dye sublimation is a computer printing technique that uses heat to transfer dye onto fabric. It’s a great option for sports clothing.
Best for:- Personalisation: ideal for individual customisation of names and numbers, for example, sports clothing
- Flexible and low cost: no extra setup costs if you want to use additional colours
- Detail: suitable for reproducing designs with fine details and small text
- Finish: creates a continuous tone print across the entire garment if desired
- Durable: doesn’t fade or flake
- Material: Works best on fabrics that are 100% polyester, nylon, lycra, or spandex (elastane)
